SFMA and Physio Moncton clinic

The selective functional movement assessment (SFMA) is a comprehensive assessment used in clinic to classify movement patterns and direct our treatment plan and therapeutic exercise interventions.

The SFMA helps the therapist identify individual movement pattern deficiencies and the provocation of pain within movement patterns that is UNIQUE to each individual. For example, it is easy to see how three back pain patients can have three different movement profiles, each demonstrating different levels of competency with movement pattern mobility and stability issues. It is really important not simply to look at a patient’s structure or medical diagnosis when trying to formulate THE BEST, MOST EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE path to treatment and exercise intervention.
