Acupuncture
It can help with neck/back pain, bursitis, tendinitis, nerve pain and sprains just to name a few. Acupuncture stimulates and increases the body’s self-healing abilities. Acupuncture stimulates different regions of the nervous system, leading to the release of natural analgesic substances, such as endorphins and enkephalins.
Dry Needling
Dry needling involves inserting a needle (with no injection of fluid) through the skin into tight muscle bands (known as trigger points). This technique triggers a reflexive relaxation of the muscle and restores blood flow to the area (previously hypoxic). Subsequently, this may help improve joint range of motion and muscle activation patterns.
TMJ
The temporomandibular joint connects the jaw to the skull. If there is an injury to this joint or it becomes damaged, it can cause jaw pain. TMJ dysfunctions can also be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, gum chewing, arthritis, teeth grinding or jaw injury. Symptoms of this TMJ disorder include pain in the jaw, jaw popping, headaches, locking of the jaw and earache.
Concussion Management
Concussion is a brain injury and is defined as a complex pathophysiological process affecting the brain, induced by biomechanical forces. It may be caused either by a direct blow to the head, face, neck or elsewhere on the body with an impulsive force transmitted to the head. In some cases, symptoms and signs may evolve over a number of minutes to hours. Resolution of the symptoms typically follows a sequential course. However, in some cases symptoms may be prolonged.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy also known as ‘’Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy’’ is a non-evasive treatment used to promote accelerated treatment of tendons, bone, soft tissue, joint injuries. High-intensity shockwave pulses are produced by a hand-held transmitter that will increase circulation and stimulate quicker healing, this will help injured muscles and tendons to regenerate and heal.
